Our Shelter Supply Wish List

Order from our Amazon Wish List , Chewy Wish List or WalMart Wish List
and donations are shipped directly to us! In-person donations can be
dropped off weekdays from 10:00am–5:00pm to 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, OH  44313

Donations We Need

**All donated items must be new or gently used and cleaned. Unfortunately, items that do not meet these standards will be discarded.

**Storage space is limited. If you are planning to donate large items or quantities, please call ahead to ensure we can accommodate your generous contribution.

We are most in need of the following items:

  • Wet dog food (any brand, chunky or pâté )
  • Dry cat and dog food (Hill’s Science Diet only)
  • Hot dogs
  • Bleach (Clorox brand or household bleach that is 5.25% sodium hypochlorite)
  • Laundry detergent (High Efficiency liquid only)
  • Disposable latex gloves
  • Paper towels
  • Treats
  • 4-6 foot nylon dog leashes (no retractable, please)

 

Other items gratefully accepted:

  • Flea medications
  • Dry and wet cat and dog food (any brand, including opened bags)

 

Cat supplies:

  • Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR)
  • Small plastic litter boxes
  • Non-scoopable cat litter
  • Feliway diffuser refills and Feliway spray

Dog supplies:

  • Nylabones
  • 6 foot leashes
  • Heartworm medications
  • Buckle dog collars

 

Other supplies:

  • Office supplies (especially white copy paper and stamps)
  • Cleaning supplies (Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, etc)
  • Toilet paper
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Hand soap
  • Dish soap
  • Trash bags

What We No Longer Accept

To better serve the animals in our care and streamline operations, the Humane Society of Summit County has updated our donation guidelines. The following items are no longer accepted:

  • Pillows
  • Blankets
  • Comforters
  • Mattress Pads
  • Crib Mattresses
  • Stuffed Bedding
  • Stuffed Toys
  • Towels
  • No plastic dishes
  • No used litter boxes, automatic litter boxes or hooded litter boxes
  • No used grooming supplies
  • No dog or cat beds
  • No cages or soft side carriers
  • No automatic feeders
  • No clothing (ie. coats, sweaters and costumes)

*Please note: We cannot accept prescription drugs or expired over-the-counter medications. Please contact your vet office for proper disposal of these items.
