The Humane Society of Summit County relies on our volunteers each year to help us provide care to our animals in need. Groups and corporate volunteers can support our work and the animals at our shelter in various ways such as coordinating and participating in group service projects like making toys, collecting and donating items from our “wish list”, holding a fundraiser, or in shelter projects such as:
- Cleaning areas of the shelter (sweeping, mopping, organizing, etc.)
- Dishes & laundry
- Landscaping
- General office tasks
- And so much more!
Depending on your needs and the time of the request, group volunteer opportunities may be limited.
If interested, please complete the Group Volunteer Project Request Form and return it to Sheena Hanly, at shanly@summithumane.org.
These projects do not include direct contact with our animals but are integral aspects of helping our animals. Volunteers who handle animals go through extensive training and have weekly commitments to volunteer. To become an individual volunteer, please view our guidelines on becoming a volunteer!
