Create a Legacy of Compassion
By including the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) in your estate plans, you help ensure that abandoned, injured, and homeless animals will always find safety, comfort, and love. Your gift—large or small—creates a lasting legacy and makes a profound difference for generations to come.
Ways to Give
Planned gifts are simple, flexible, and meaningful. Options include:
- A gift in your will or living trust (bequest)
- Naming HSSC as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy
- Gifts of stocks, mutual funds, or securities
- Life income gifts (charitable gift annuities or trusts)
- Gifts of real estate or property
The Legacy Society
HSSC’s Legacy Society honors individuals who have included HSSC in their estate plans. Members ensure vulnerable animals will always have refuge and are recognized with:
- A Legacy Society enamel pin
- Annual newsletter updates
- Invitations to behind-the-scenes tours and appreciation events
- Opportunities to meet animals impacted by your generosity
- Recognition on our Legacy Honor Wall (optional)
Why It Matters
Most people give during their lifetime, but fewer extend their support through estate plans. Planned Giving allows your compassion to live on; honors loved ones and secures HSSC’s lifesaving mission for years to come.
How to Join
If you’ve already included HSSC in your plans—or wish to learn more—please let us know so we may thank you and welcome you into the Legacy Society. Please contact Amanda Novelli, Director of Development.
