At the Humane Society of Summit County, we support the human and animal bond, and the benefits of pet ownership. The Home for Life program is a resource for you in case you pass away before your pet(s).
We are here to help you make a plan and ensure your wishes for your pet(s) are met. We can temporarily house a pet before family or friends take ownership and help make this transition seamless. Or, HSSC can assume full care for your animals by providing food, shelter, socialization, and veterinary care in our no time limit shelter until they find their new home through adoption. Every plan is custom-made because your needs and your pets are unique.
There is no fee or minimum age to enroll. As a member of the Home for Life program, we ask that you make an annual contribution of any amount to maintain enrollment and consider including the Humane Society of Summit County in your estate plans.
To enroll, or if you have any questions about the Home for Life program or other planned giving opportunities, please contact Colleen Repie, Director of Development and Marketing, at crepie@summithumane.org or 234-212-9679.
