We adopted Cardi in June of 2022. She was waiting in the shelter 10 months! We can’t imagine how or why because she is a goofy, loving, snuggle bear. She’s sassy and crazy smart, she keeps surprising us with just how smart because she kept some of it hidden away until Zahra came home.
After a little more than a year after getting Cardi settled in, we decided to foster another dog. During the process of finding a good match for Cardi I was introduced to Zahra (Sugarbaby). At just over 8 weeks she came right to me and sat in my lap. Direct to adoption. Cardi immediately took to Mama Bear mode and has shifted with her development into a best friend.
Zahra excelled all through her puppy training and she earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen award before she turned 9 months old!! She is continuing training as my service dog (a disabled veteran) and doing great!!
We are so grateful to Humane Society of Summit County and all its dedicated staff and volunteers. These two girls are our joy, constant comedy relief and companions. We know they wouldn’t be with us if it weren’t for all the hard work you do. Thank you!!
