Donate Your Items

Please call ahead and schedule all large or heavy items to allow us to prepare space and to make sure a team is available to help move the item! If a scheduled time was not reserved, HTTS reserves the right to refuse any donation.

  • Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Televisions or computer monitors
  • Heaters, appliances, or any item that uses liquid fuel (i.e. kerosene, gasoline, diesel, propane, etc.)
  • Sleeper Sofas, Waterbeds, Mattresses, Box Springs or Bed Pillows

 

Other

  • Clothing, shoes or hats
  • Building Materials
  • Automotive Parts
  • Paint or Chemicals of Any Kind
  • Encyclopedias
  • Any broken/non-working item
  • Any game or toy missing parts

Items Accepted on a Case-by-Case Basis:

Thank you for your support! Due to the abundance of Christmas decor donations we have received, we are not accepting any Christmas decor for the remainder of the year. Thank you for understanding!

This list is to be used only as a guideline. There may be other items not listed that we can use in our shelter or Thrift Shop or that cannot be accepted due to size, condition, or suitability.

The Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) cannot accept anything that is not in working order, damaged, or missing any parts. HSSC reserves the right to refuse any donation for any reason. Please dispose of these items through an alternative responsible resource, such as your local recycling center.

Dumping is illegal – violators will be prosecuted.

Please Note: Once an item is donated it is no longer your property, and you are giving up all rights to said property. We try to check in items the same day, and there is a good chance the items will be available for sale within 24 hours. We cannot be responsible for items that were donated in error. CHECK YOUR ITEMS PRIOR TO DONATING.
